Title: No ultrafiltration
Post by: happyonhemo on June 19, 2010, 09:58:12 AM
I've had a recent bout of stomach bugs which have led to several occasions where I've had no fluid to remove during treatment. But if I enter 0's when I set my parameters, the machine has me running for 99 hours.I've tried putting in .1 in the beginning and then changing it to 0 but it still doesn't behave right. Any suggestions?

Add more fluid in the begginning so you have something to take off.  If rinse back is .5 than add 1.0 and then you have something to take off.

Just my opinion.       ;D

On some machines a little bit of fluid removal is required to clea the blood. What they do is remove .4 for me and some machines will do .3 or .2 then they just give me back what was removed.

We were trained to set the rate at .20 and the target at 0.  This allows for the rinseback and will pull off no fluid.  We have had several days that there was no fluid to pull off and this did the trick.

Happyonhemo,

Just set the machien up normally as if you were going to take fluid off. Then after you start the treatment, just hit the toggle button and go in and "zero" the ultrafiltration out so you do not remove any fluid.
