Title: New to the forum, but not to the rodeo.
Post by: imspicy80 on June 08, 2010, 02:29:59 PM
I decided to join this forum in hopes of finding new friends that would understand all that I've been through. Recently I was put back on Dialysis after 3 1\2 years with a transplant. And after a little more than 7 yrs of Dialysis under my belt, I would like to meet more people near my age that have experienced Kidney Failure. :pray;

You don't say how old you are, but there are many people of all ages here who are experiencing dialysis and/or transplantation.  It's hard at any age.  When you are younger, it interferes with your social life and your plans for the future.  When you are older, you have so many more responsibilities that are impacted by kidney failure.  I know you will find plenty of support and opportunities for friendship on this board.  We all welcome you.

welcome spicy80....does this mean you were born in 1980, or maybe some days you feel as if you were 80 years old?????

IHD is a very good place for support and information, things that we all need on this roller coaster/rodeo.

Welcome Spicy, I am close to your age, I haven't been through nearly as much as you have but I am living with kidney failure...or trying to at least. I can tell you how I feel, sometimes I wake up in the morning and it seems like I have worked a full day allready and than somedays I feel close to normal, but dialysis has helped me a lot this past two months I have been on it, I am not angry anymore because I don't have all those nasty toxins corrupting my attitude, and my bp seems to be getting under control. On the other had sitting in this chair for three and a half hours while I get juiced drives me up the damn wall.

welcome!!  I'm 28, I'll be 29 in December, and I'm dealing with kidney failure too.  I've only been on dialysis for a little over a year now, and I'm on the verge of being listed for transplant, so hopefully this is but a stop on the road!  I can't imagine going through all you have, so my hat's off to you for coming this far!

Hi Spicy and welcome to IHD.  I am a caregiver to my dialysis lovin' spouse (just a joke about the lovin' part) and we do homo hemo with NxStage.  I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.  See you on the boards.   :welcomesign;

Hi Spicy.... I graduated from high school close to 1980?  Does that count?    :rofl;

Welcome to IHD.  I hope you enjoy your stay and learn lots.  I'm looking foreward to hearing from you on the board.
