and thank god for that ! In my other thread , i have written about my sessions being really tough , throwing up all the time, feeling dreadful etc etc .Well today was great ! I came off nearly bouncing out the door ! Why? because i got 3 litres of fluid pulled off me ! Ive lost over 2 and a half kilos in weight ..this is just today ! Regardless of how much i dislike some nurses , i always tell them how i feel , they can see my weight for themselves and have been witness to my throwing up , but obviously they have ignored all the warning signs. I kept saying i felt overloaded ,but hey ho , just get on the machine and stop complaining , we (the nurses) are the experts we know what we are doing. Then today the other head honcho came back (after 3 weeks off) and i get on with her brilliantly , she gets me and i get her. I told her how i felt , how bad my sessions were going and straight away she set my machine up to pull, pull, pull , but not to abandon me either. As soon as i needed her she was there , a drop in bp , a bit shaky from pulling off so much fluid and she talked me through it all . Luckily for me shes in again for my next session , so said she will do the same again , just to make sure how i feel isnt a fluke ! And then said if all goes ok , i am to tell the nurses (regardless of who it is!) exactly how to set my machine up for my sessions ..should be fun , as certain ones will hate that ! I tell you i dont know what i would do without this one nurse(sister) .Its a shame she cant read this to see how much she is appreciated ! I did thank her for today and hope she went home knowing she made a difference today !

Put it in writing for her, too! I gave the nurse who trained me on NxStage a thank you tucked into one of my hand-made clay characters, and she got teary eyed. She said very few patients ever thank her for anything.

I'm glad you had a good day.

She CAN read this if you copy it off for her...and given the struggles with the other nurses, perhaps you could ask her to note it in your chart just for good measure.
So glad that things went well today and I really hope that it can become your norm at the centre.
