On Chris's b'day, we ate in the Food Court at Plaza Las Americas in Puerto Rico. Since I had had dialysis just the day before and now I am told I have to keep pressure on the site for 24 hours, the bandages on my hand were a bit obvious. When I sat down, a lady sitting there asked me about the bandages. When I started to explain, I could see that she totally understood. She started to tell me about her brother. He was on dialysis for 32 years and passed just 10 months ago. He was on dialysis from his early 20's and died in his 50's.
I told her that when I got back I would tell IHD members about him. It was a real encouragement for me. If only I could get 32 years!!!
She told me that he had an amazing personality and never seemed feeble, inspite of the extreme challenge he had. He did HD, three days a week,
Rest in peace, Santiago Echevaria (not sure of this spelling. Help, Epofriend!)

It is a great story! Thank you for sharing it with us. I am sure there will be many more prayers for his soul now.
