Title: Intro to myself.
Post by: overworkedpct on May 15, 2010, 05:18:34 PM
Hello I am not a patient but I am an employee of Davita.  I found this website and I think it is fantastic that you guys have made a place to rant about your treatments, and the staff that takes care of you.  I know we can be frustrating at times and that treatments are rough.  See I am not one of the techs that does not care about my patients.  I am getting paid to take care of them and that is where I stand strong.  I watch other employees that will walk away from patients and ignore them or get an attitude with them where as me, I try to remind myself that you they are sick and they need to a friendly face during a time that they do not want to do.

 :welcomesign;  to IHD  and thank you for your caring attitude towards your patients.  I live in Canada and our system is quite different than the one in which you work since dialysis here is not for profit.  However there will always be nurses (only nurses here are involved directly in patient care...techs do no needles, they look after the machines but we still are in  close contact because we go so frequently to D) who care and those who appear not to care.  The real issue for everyone of us is that this illness, like so many others, can hit any one of us including medical staff and their family members...it is a rough road we patients must travel and a little caring goes a very long way to helping us remember that we aren't through with life just yet.  Your attitude can make the difference between a bearable day and a day that feels like torture.
Thanks again for choosing to try to lighten the load your patients carry.    :flower;

Hi Overworked and welcome to IHD.  I hope you tell your patients of your discovery of IHD.  It may help their attitude to come here and vent... get it off their chest.  I'm so glad you found us. There is a section for workers also!

Welcome to our community!  I am glad that you understand that this site is not just for patients, but for anyone in anyway connected to this renal challenge.  It is great when there are caring workers looking after us.  Continue to post - ask questions, answer some, give your point of view.  This is not just a website - it is a genuine family  :grouphug; caring and sharing.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello and welcome to the site.  Thanks for being one of the nice guys.  I have been blessed with my clinic.  All the staff members are awesome.  You know when they have bad days but, they are always smiling for the patients.  I drive an hour to get there and have been told I can move to a place closer to home but, I'm afraid a new clinic could be full of unhappy, disgruntled employees.  So I stay where I am because of people like you.
Thanks again for caring for people like us.   :clap; :clap; :clap;
