Guitarmaker, Welcome to IHD.   You just said what many of us have voiced "I'm scared".  There is so much thrown at you all of a sudden and it is hard to take it all in.  There is great information here and everyone is quick to answer any questions you have.  This is also the place to vent, scream and be upset with this life changing situation.   We also make each other laugh.  If you have any questions about the site, ask and we will help.  Take some time to read through threads and post more so we can learn more about you.   Glad you found us!    :2thumbsup;

Hello Guitarmaker and welcome to IHD.  I'm glad you have a computer out in the sticks!   :rofl;

Are you going to start dialysis soon.  It is a scary time.  It is comforting to know that people are on dialysis for years with no problem just a few adjustments in life as you know it.

There is home dialysis so you don't have to drive (or ride your horse) to the big city.

Howdy Guitarmaker...welcome to the IHD gang.  I also live in the stix (or BFE as some call it) but in Southern Missouri.  This is a great site with lots of wonderful folks who will gladly help you in any way they can.

hey thanks 4 support:
I am a 48 year old male. I was an earthdog headbanger. I play guitar and sung on a stage for over 12 years.
  I am most comfortable in the mountains though, fishing or hiking. This is my 12 year or so of type 2 diabetes. I have extremely bad knees, (need replacements) but always was told too young. No activity no excercise equals too much weight equals diabetes. Anyway thats that. Now I have been informed that I have a high kratin level and will need the dreaded D word. I have bee searching and talking to doctors, but they all semm to have a different story. I am so glad to have someone to talk to that has been there and going through this stuff too.
     Its quite strange....I have never even blogged before, but you have already made it a lot easier fro me thanks..

Welcome to our sharing and caring community!  This is just the place to be, especially just before the D!  This is the place for information, support and even fun.  Just keep reading and above all, keep posting.  We need to know how you are doing.  Ask questions as much as you need to.
Just take advantage of all this site has to offer.  It was this site that prepared me for dialysis, and I am eternally grateful.  You will soon find out that this is more than a website - it's a genuine family :grouphug;
Looking forward to hearing from you.
