O.k. so I was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue. I recently moved. I had been living with parents with my 3 kids after a six month hospital stay forced me to give up my apartment. The hospital that im listed on refused to keep me active unless i moved due to the fact that I was sharing a room with m 8 yr old daughter. So infection was of great concern.
Anyway, because my apartment has littlestorage space available I requested 2 week delivery cycles with Baxter. I was told they will only guarentee 1 monthly delivery and that the other will likely come from a courier a.k.a. UPS.
So the delivered this a.m. and not only refused bring anything in the house but claimed they dont do stairs and left it on a pallet in the driveway. So now i must deal with bringing it in the house and disposing of a pallet. This doesnt sem right especially since EVERY other UPS package I have ever received has been brought up some set of stairs. Those boxes are very heavy especially with the litle stamina that I do have. Any suggestions?

I dont think UPS has a contrack with Baxter to bring the items inside or up any stairs. If in thepast someone did it may have been just there niceness. Unlike the Baxter delv. people they HAVE to go up stairs ect,, it is part of there job description.
Is there anyway you could squeeze all the box's from Baxter into the space you have. At least then it would all be dealt with and delv. where it should be.
As for your child being a health hazard that seems very silly to me. Karen not only sleeps in the same room as me but in the same bed. As does some of our cats from time to time..

You know, this really annoys me. What's wrong with people that they can't show a bit of mercy and carry these things for you? It would never occur to me to just dump supplies at a sick person's door without giving them assistance. I don't care if they have a contract or not. I think you just stuck with a miserable old git of a deliveryperson.

Unfortunately UPS will not bring boxes into your house. I needed a extra delivery because of a prescription change and baxter shipped it via UPS. The UPS Driver dropped the boxes in front of my door. I asked the UPS guy to help me and he said he cant. Try to get baxter to deliver with a baxter driver. I hope the situation gets better.

UPS isn't allowed to come in your house no matter how sick you are. They are afraid of being accused of something and they are on such tight delivery schedules they don't have time. Baxter drivers are bonded and instructed to bring the stuff in. I would try to find some place in your house to put the stuff. Even if you can have Baxter put half of it upstairs and half downstairs. Then maybe you could have a friend or neighbor carry some up halfway through the month. Or just open the boxes and carry it up bag by bag. If you do that even an 8 yr old could help you. I'm sorry things are so tough for you. I'm going to be leaving my parents house soon too and living alone again for the first time in over a year. I worry about not being able to do everything. But if you take a bag every time you have to go upstairs you might be able to do it. Break the job down into tiny tiny parts. Good luck!
