Title: I enrolled in school!
Post by: karen547 on March 25, 2010, 12:06:25 PM
So I am enrolled at the Continental School of Beauty! I am going to be taking the Esthetician course! I will graduate 12/2010. I am doing part time-evenings. The school is really nice and I am looking forward to it. I start May 3rd. I am kind of sad today though because my mom cannot have anymore chemo until she gains weight and her platelets increase so if you can say a little prayer for her! We aren't ready to give up!!

I won't give up on your Mom either Karen and will keep her in my thoughts.
:flower;  Great news about school.  I think that besides offering career potential you'll also feel better doing something you enjoy and that will get you out into the world of the "normals".  (lol...we all know everyone's a little bit nuts).

PS.  My sister did an Esthetician course before doing hairstyling courses.  She went on to own her own salon in Vero Beach, which she just sold last week and now plans to retire and maybe just work a little bit.

A prayer is definitely in place. I so admire your strength & courage. You're mom is undergoing chemo treatments which is a lot on the family, you do dialysis treatments, and you've just taken a great step in making something great of your life.Going to school will definitely help build your self esteem. You go girl. You ROCK! (I'm so excited for you)

Good for you, Karen!  I love our local school. I get my hair cut, colored and styled about every six weeks.  Costs $22.50!  I have the same student and will be lost when she graduates.   Wishing you much luck as you start a new adventure!!   And I continue to keep your Mom in my prayers.
