For those interested in English football who do you think will win the Premier Legue?
My money is on Arsenal. Hope Man.U don't win it being a Man.City fan. Do you think we can get 4th place for a Champions league spot?
-
Anyone but ManU... I was always a Crystal Palace supporter, but they haven't even glimpsed the Premiership since the earliest days of that league's formation. It's always the same five or six clubs that are in contention.

Ken, I trust you will be starting a World Cup thread in early June! Oh, I sooooo cannot wait for the World Cup!! I've already told my husband that he's just going to have to fend for himself during that month because my bee-hind will be parked in front of the telly!

MooseMum I'm hoping there will be some daytime matches because then they will make dialysis go that much faster. But maybe because we are on the same timeline as South Africa they will be mainly evening games.
It chokes me to say it because he plays for Man.U but I just hope that Wayne Rooney steers clear of injury and is able to take part because I think only with him in the team and his influence on other players will we win it.

I nearly fell over when the USA and England were drawn in the same group, and I just about passed out when I saw that theirs would be the first match in group play. England will be the team to beat, and yes, Wayne Rooney will be pivotal. The past month has been particularly stressful, and I haven't been paying too much attention; has England finalized their World Cup team? Was David Beckham seriously in the running to be capped yet again, or was it just media hype? I hear he's injured and won't be available to play, anyway, but I was never quite clear on his status for England.

I think Beckham would have been used more as a substitute late in the game as I don't think he has the legs for a full 90 minutes.
It's strange that a player with basically one talent became such an important figure in football but his ability to absolutely pinpoint a player with a long ball pass and his ability to anticipate the area a player may be about to run into before he passes is unique and his accuracy in that aspect is something I've never seen before in all of the 50 years I've been watching football. He has always lacked other qualities such as pace and close ball skills but he makes up for it in that one incredible talent.

Go Cowboys :oops;
-
Go Texans! :oops;
As for Beckham, well, I guess that's why that movie is named as it is. Sometimes all you need is one incredible, unmatched talent, and Beckham's passing is that if nothing else.

I'm sorry, USA in the same breath as the UK for Soccor? what! I wouldn't even dream of putting Australia in the same breath as the UK for soccor. At least we can admit that the only contribution we've ever made to soccor is Harry. K, hence why we usually play Japan and Korea.
I know I'll loose hubby when world cup starts. Beckham isn't that great, not really come it, its just his looks and tat's (omg just don't ask him to speak, he's one of those plesant things that are pretty to look at but you know there isn't anything there under the bonnet).
Problem is we usually have to watch the games during the early morning (anywhere from 11pm to 6am) so hubs will be at the pub to watch it
-
Well, the USA qualified and were drawn with England in the same group, so I guess that in and of itself requires "USA and England" to be in the same breath. While it is true that the US has not contributed mightily to the world of soccer, each year a few more septics play in England and for other European clubs.
-
My beloved Man.City moved nearer and nearer to a European champions league spot by beating Burnley 6-1 and thereby moving into 4th spot in the Premier league. Tottenham lost and Liverpool could only manage a draw. :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; C'mon you Blues!!!!

I wish I could see the games here on the road. I only saw one USA game last season and I miss it so. I would like to see the Aussie enthusiasm in comparison to the US.
-
Aussies act like total bogans at the football, Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi i usually shouted. I would love to see the day we have a team comparable to the UK and play them in a match. The balmy Army V's Convicts in Soccer would be great! IT's fun in rugby
-
arsenal lost the match this morning against barcelona to get booted from the chamions league, i sort of think chelsea may take out the EPL and there is no question about it SPAIN will take the world cup
-
I heard things get pretty rough in rugby. The US is turning our sports into sissy games compared to past years.
-
definetly think chelsea has the legue now that there 4 points clear with 3 games
-
Do they play in kilts?
