* THE 2010 NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION U.S. TRANSPLANT GAMES® *
The 2010 Games will be held July 30 – August 4, 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin. The U.S. Transplant Games are an Olympic-style event held every two years. They are the only national athletic competition for recipients of life-saving organ transplants, and the largest gathering of transplant recipients, donor families, and living donors in the world.

The Games are more than a sporting event. They are a recognition of the spirit behind organ and tissue donation and a celebration of the lives that have been saved by donation and transplantation. They are an opportunity for transplant recipients to celebrate their renewed life and for donors and families to be honored for their gifts.

All living donors (of any organ or tissue) are invited to the 2010 NKF U.S. Transplant Games® to celebrate life! Living donors can cheer on the transplant athletes to see the impact of their gift in action, meet other donors, find support and answers to your questions about donation and transplantation, and be recognized for your gifts of life. For the first time this year, living donors (of life-supporting allografts, at least nine months post-donation) will be able to compete against each other in the following Track & Field athletic events: 100 meter dash, ball throw and long jump!

Living donors are invited to attend the processional of living donors during Opening Ceremonies, the Living Donor Recognition Event to recognize the generosity and spirit of our nation’s living donors, Coffeehouse which is an open-mic forum where people can share, and various Living Donor workshops. Everyone is also encouraged to attend The Power of "People Like Us” workshop to learn about advocacy, the public policy process and how your voice can raise awareness and influence lawmakers.

Each person who attends the Games is part of an official U.S. Transplant Games Team representing his/her state or region. Each team is organized by a local Team Manager.
