Hi ,
Just wondering how much fluctuation in creatinin is considered ok ? Also is it ok to have creatinine outside the normal range and considered to be ok ?

Not sure how your creat is measured, varies by country. However, how long have you had your transplant? If it's outside the norm I would call your transplant center if they haven't called you or your nephrologist. Something could be causing it to rise, rather it be infection, dehydration, or medication without knowing whats going on.

I would review your lab results with the nephrologist to determine what you need to know.

Thanks guys.....have had my transplant 2 1/2 months ago in India and am bk home in Tanzania . Medical here is not all that so i have email my reports to my doc in India. So just get freaked out sometimes. Just got a reply this morn from the doc saying some fluctuation is not to worry abt. I think it might be dehydrating as its extremely hot here. so increasing my water consumption.

I had my transplant on Dec 3 last year ( 2 1/2 months ago too) . My creatine has been as high as 2.5 and dropped to 1.7 and back up to 2.3. My doc seems to think it's meds and dehydration. I have started drinking 4 liters of water a day and the creatine is slowly coming down. Hope you find out what is going on soon .

Hey stacyand joe92,
Had my transplant on 1st dec , so we not far out from each other. I also think mine is dehydration and the fact that here bk home(Tanzania) its extremely and tend to sweat alot. Am also trying to aim for 4 litres a day. How u keeping otherwise ?

Post-Tx my creatinine seems to fluctuate more than ever. Hydration plays a big role in the numbers I'm getting, anywhere from 1.18 if I've been drinking lots of water to 1.38 if not. I can't remember atm what units are use in the USA for creatinine - maybe mg/dL?
