My name is Harvey Wells and while I hate dialysis, I love the freedom and flexibility of NxStage! Over the last two years I've travelled over 30,000 miles all over the United States with my two grandsons meeting hundreds of dialyzors in over 80 different centers.
I enjoy talking to others and sharing my journey. Dialysis has helped me be more in tune with those things that make my life worth living (my family and friends) and it has given me a new sense of purpose advocating for dialyzors to be fully educated and informed of all their choices.
I hope in my travels I'll get the chance to meet some of you.

Hey Harvey! I am glad to see you join us. I have posted stories about your travels in the news section and was happy to meet you last year at a Renal Support Network meeting. Welcome!

Hi Carol, I remember. I've read the forum often and I'm enjoying some 'downtiime' before my next adventure so I thought I'd stick my toes in the water.

Howdy back from another fellow Texan! (Ithought we had a smiley with a cowboy hat ? )
How's all that snow up there? :clap; I'm in the San Antonio area (actually just moved out of S.A. to Natalia).
You will love this site. And, BTW, we are going to eventually get a Texas meet and greet together. I've been working on it for a while now. :shy; I'll admit I got interrupted by my transplant and junk that followed. :0)

Harvey got "The Call" yesterday and is already able to post on his facebook:
Thanks to everyone for the messages of love and support. The kidney was peeing before I left the OR! Like many who deal with CKD, the love and support from family and friends is so important.
I'm convinced that had it not been for NxStage and home dialysis, I would not be here or healthy enough after almost 5 1/2 years of dialysis.
Peggy and I are blessed and grateful, we appreciate and love you all!

Harvey traveled all over the US in his mobile home - helping others to see how NxStage works and how he was able to stay active. Here's one of the many news stories about him: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=19809.0

Oh my goodness, how fantastic!!!!!
You know, some of blather on and on about "optimal dialysis", but the truth is that if you are on the waiting list, it is imperative that you keep your body as healthy as possible so that when YOUR call comes, you will be well enough to survive the surgery and enjoy your new life.

Great news....Harvey..... I just want to know one thing...... since you are not going to be using Nxstage now since you got a transplant..... And I am sure after you heal up and your up and running I am certain you will continue to hit the road in your RV..... Who is going to be going from clinic to clinic talking to people about Nxstage...... we sure have loved to hear about all your adventures and to spread the work about Nxstage.....
Are you still going to spread the word......??
