I remember what I like the most about snow. The silence! There is no noise. No cars, nothing. I love it! And it is so bright with everything so white. The birds are at my window. I made sure to put new feed out on top of the snow. I went out to just be in the cold and snow. I love feeling the extreme temperatures. How else can you appreciate the hot summer days? I also like to sit on the beach when it is 100. :thumbup; We have 6 inches, a layer of ice and more to come the rest of the day. I am going to enjoy the quiet, watch some good movies, finish my book. :2thumbsup; Hope everyone else is enjoying their day, too.

I agree Paris. The silence is great. The sun is shining here on our 8 inches of snow (I measured it) and I have been out walking in it. It is just beautiful!

Ours turned out to be more messy, although it is snowing again...
About an inch followed by rain. Very slushy.
We went to the grocery store this morning and not many folks were out. :clap;
It is supposed to get VERY cold tonight, so the slushy will turn solid. Hmmm.

Don't go through Houston. It's cold, breezy and overcase. One more lovely day that this in the forcase before one weeks worth of rain.

I will bragg about my son Todd for a moment. Since our city has shut down for the snow event, no one is driving anywhere. Todd's wife is a labor and delivery nurse and she works 12 hour shifts on the weekends. Last night they invited the other nurses she works with to spend the night at their house, since they live the closest to the hospital and have a four wheel drive vehicle. They are all staying at their house again tonight and Todd had homemade potato soup waiting for all of them when they got off. He is the first one to take care of everyone. They have to be back at the hospital at 6 am. The nurses think that Todd is the best husband ever! So he is surrounded by women --- 2 daughters, one wife, three other female nurses and two female cats. His solution? Watch the 24 hour car race! We have had 2 cars on our street all day and one was the mailman. Thank goodness the bills came! :rofl;

I'm sure that is isn't so but the snow storm sounds so exciting and romantic. Remember the old movie of Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, Holiday Inn?
And hey, I'd brag too if I had a cool kid (kid, lol) liike that.

Because it isn't a yearly event, we do appreciate our snows. It is beautiful outside. The sun is sparkling off the snow and everything looks new and peaceful. The tree by my front window is full of birds. Cardinals, Finches, Junkos, Tanigers, Chicadees. They are loving the seeds I put out for them. At one point there were over 20 all feeding together. We got another inch or so overnight. It will all melt away this week, so I will enjoy this gift while it is here. :2thumbsup;

Paris seemed we got more ice than snow here. Your sn is a good fellow :clap; :clap; :clap; :thumbup;
I use to like working late at night when it had snowed. Peaceful, beutiful. Of curse as the morning aproached day light, people would end up in the ditches. Some of the guys I worked with would get fustrated having to deal with it and call It "Hillbillies on Ice". Ice capades with cars, :rofl; :rofl;
Wondering if my wife will have school tomorrow? Many side streets ate glassed over. Turned to come to the dialysis center and for1/4 of a block it was solid ice and thick.

I've been to Colorado ( around the Springs) in august. Loved it. I'm use to snow, just moved here in July. But, don't do well on it or ice these days. Use to hot humid weather too, so I'm not looking forward to late spring here. It might be worse than I am use to, :rofl; :rofl;
