I'm hoping if you click on the following link you'll be looking at the google earth street view of my house - probably not that simple, but I'll try it anyway. Then if you put your address in and get to your house you can copy and paste the link too.

No it didn't work. Only went to a generic site where you need to put the address in. Wouldn't be a good idea for us to all be putting our addresses on a post! So we'll have to do it the old fashioned way and take a picture ourselves. I'm on the lap top at the mo so don't have one - but will post one tomorrow.
-
We could do screen shots, Hanify! Neat idea!

What? Not going to google my house. Would make it too easy for IHD terrorist to bomb it. Did I meantion that Hanify is a nut case?
-
The photo is old, it does not show my road or house, so much for the terrorist threat Dan.

Actually you are right. Epoman did not want any personal information (address or telephone number) on here. That is why we have an Emergency Contact list only seen by Admins. Obviously, you can PM personal information to anyone you want to. But, please don't make it public by posting it on the site.
Thanks,

Good Point.. People other than IHD members see it all the time (even if we don't harbor terrorist -- very many)
-
Well - here's my house anyway...
-
Nice house. Tin roof? How often you get out there to shoot hoops?
-
Nice house Hanify. Looks very big!!!!
-
too late Crawfish --- I have googled your house and I have seen your street ---
ha! BEWARE --- oh wait----- I am out of bombs.......
-
Nice, place, Hanify. :2thumbsup;
Here is the satalite of mine. This was in the Spring. The pool still has the winter cover on it. The redbuds are blooming. You can see the train track that runs behind our property at the upper left corner (no neighbors behind us!) and a piece of the street at the lower right corner. I did a screen capture to get this. :clap;
-
Beautiful property. :2thumbsup;
You sure did hide the still real good from the revenuers. :rofl;
-
Here I am. The second picture.
-
Marc, we hid the still in the woods.... :rofl;
If you can't see it, the spy in the sky can't either! :2thumbsup;
-
My daily positive (oops, off topic) is that my two best friends Aleta and Hanify both have houses big enough for me to move in (when the time comes) (Where'd I put those suitcases?)
-
???
-
Dan, got a room ready for ya! You can do Tennessee in the summer here and NZ in the summer there! :rofl; :rofl;
-
Well here is our house.... It's changed quite a bit since the google photo was taken. We've done a bit of renovation
-
Oooh, Jenny, what a nice place! :2thumbsup;
-
Ok here we go. View is old because neighbor to the left has renovated, well needed to due to past owners.
-
Oooh, Jenny, what a nice place! :2thumbsup;
Thanks. We bought it about 2 years ago. My husbands best mate is doing the landscaping for us and our old neighbour is a builder so he's done the retaining wall and other things. It's been a long haul to get it the way we want it
-
Nice, Chris.
You, too, Marc, I forgot to say anything about yours! Hope it didn't all wash away in your recent rain, er deluge!
We have been in our house for about 24 years. Carl used to do lots of landscaping as a hobby, but for some reason he hasn't had much time for that recently. Hmmm. We need to replace inside carpet, but don't see any reason to do that as long as we are dyalizing and periodically making the place look like a scene from CSI! :rofl;
-
See dan - JennyC has a house big enough for you too!!
-
Hell, I could move in with most of you people and bring my own house alone. It'd probably fit in one of your bedrooms.
I don't know how to do this but old and little and decrepid as it is I'm not ashamed of it. My parent bought it in 1950 for $7000 and now they'll give me 350,000 and let me move the house too -- but all I want is my backyard terraze and deck and patio. Was it Aleta who said she needed landscaping? And its paid for and I have frozen real estate taxes. So I ain't ashamed. Though a more rational person would me.
-
This thread is great. What beautiful homes you all have. ....I tried to Google Earth mine but the most recent shot was June 2007 and our house was under construction then so not much to see. But, since I live in BFE, it will probably be 2015 before Google Earth takes another shot. :rofl;
-
I'm waiting for instructions...
-
Okay, Dan.
Go to Google maps. maps.google.com (http://maps.google.com)
Type in your address and your will get a satellite view of your address. Zoom in on it.
Then capture a screen shot of it. I don't know how to do that with a PC, but on a Mac you do command, shift 4 and then select the area you want to capture.
Name your picture if you want, then post it. You will have to go to additional options directly below the text window to upload the picture. :2thumbsup;
Eagerly awaiting a shot of your home.
BTW, you can also do the street view from Google Maps. I didn't bother since there are so many trees in front of our house that you can't really see it. Chris did a street view of his, though. All from Google Maps! :2thumbsup;

Why be ashamed? Its a home, you love it that's all that matters. You have no stress becuase you own it, no mortgage. I'd dearly love to buy our old house that i grew up in. My grandfather bought it but my parents sold it. It's nearly 150 years old now. Double brick, rising damp in all the rooms, small and in a god awful suburb, but i'd still love to own it (some day she sighs.... when i win lotto maybe) it's ugly but i have a lot of sentimental attachment to it.
Chris, Hanify and Aleta, YL your homes look lovely!
Dan.... go to Google and type in your full address (street, suburb, state and country) then use the + sign on the left to zoom in. Hit crtl prt scr and then paste it into paint programme. then you can just delete the areas you don't want and add it to the post.... there is probable a quicker way but that's how i do it
-
Jen, I was teasing. I do love it. Mostly because it is paid for and worth a lot of month (location). I could have moved years ago but I like it here. I'd even take Gail in my backyard and talk botony with her. lol Joking again. I can't even spell botony.
Thanks for the instructions. I'll try it.
-
OK Jen, I have a picture of my house on the screen. I did C prit screen and I can paste it into work or paint (I lost all the graphics package that I new when my pc cratered a while back. Now what...
I even got a picture of my house on garbage day (trash out front, with the garage door wide open and a it is after Ike and summer heat but before winter freeze.
Now what do I do?
Oh yea, I tried pasting the whole thing in and it says too large.
-
House on trash day...the idiot that lives her left the garage door open too. After Ike (not tree left) After hot summer (grass looks crappy). Now how to I get to the back yard?
Sorry, couldn't get the address off and I really have enemies in her with big sticks. For all I know they could have a bomb.
-
You got it! Yea!
And a nice place, too!
Can you imagine all those cars driving around getting these shots?
:rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
-
God that was hard. I want my old Photoshop and Correl... I still have the disk so I may install them tomorrow.
-
Here's the only pic of mine I could find tonight. I will post a pic from the front later.
-
But how did they do that?
-
Ooh. Is that an overlook deck, Del?
Dan, do you mean the cars that drove around? They had these cool cameras on the top taking 360 degree pictures as they drove. I sow one once.
After taking the pics, they took the people out. An awfully big project.
:2thumbsup;
-
Sorry Dan I could not help, I don't use Paint and the short cut keys. I have software to capture images from the screen in varying ways and allows you to edit and also send to various programs such as Office. - FastStone Capture, which also has a free version.
-
Chris, I know how to do suff with photoshop and corel draw but never put them back on when I had the virus a little while back. I'll install one tomorrow, get a picture of the house accross the street from me and post it and lie.
-
Sorry Dan, i went out for lunch. i just did it the long way by selecting the stuff i didn't want using the sqaure dotted tool in paint and then deleting it. i then selected the bit i wanted and moved it up to the top and then using the little blue dots at the bottom of the page i made the white page with the portion i wanted. OR you could open two paint screens select the bit you want and the copy that section (or cut) and paste to a new paint file and save it and upload.
-
Hmmm. . . not much to see on mine - tarred rectangle roof and a gravel drive. No one was home when they took the pics, so not much of interest to see. Hey, it's paid for!
-
I couldn;t work it out either Dan - so I just took a picture of my house with a camera!
-
I can't figure out how to use goggle earth either. Think I ned a tutorial!!
-
Helps to know the landmarks. When I typed in my address, it showed me a place about 20 miles from my house.
-
Okay , here's a picture of my humble abode from the front!!
-
Beautiful, but it makes me feel cold! Brrrr.
:2thumbsup;
-
Del, Snow!!!! WOW! i'd love to have snow just once! so pretty.
-
That picture was taken a couple of years ago!! We don't even have enough snow to cover the ground this year!!
