Title: I have a Date
Post by: tyefly on January 11, 2010, 01:29:27 PM
   I have a date to start training with Nxstage  which is next Monday.....    I am excited ,,,, nervious,,, scared,,,, and going in a new direction....  I will miss my center,  they were very good to me....... but I need to move forward to gain more freedom......   So.... here we go...   Next big accomplishment will be Self Cannulation....

   Wish me well........   and yes I will have lots of questions......

I will be thinking of you, Kathy.  It was a bit overwhelming when we first started training, but it didn't take long for things to make sense.  Just hang in there and don't be discouraged.  Take a deep breath and say, "I can do this."  You'll do fine.  Once you get used to doing your own needles it should actually be easier cuz you will be able to tell when they are going in right.  I think you will like the flexibility.   :grouphug;

You may want to read Meinuk's Nxstage training journal here http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=5229.0

...scary at first because it's all new, there's a lot to remember, and you don't want to make any mistakes.   But, you'll make a mistake or two, and realize it's still okay.  BEST thing Marvin and I ever did (will be three years this summer on NxStage!!!).  Good luck.  Let me know if you have questions.

You can do this! Take your time.

And you'll be going back into your clinic about once a month so you get to keep up with your buds there!  :2thumbsup;

Ask plenty of questions and realize that it will all come together and become routine and BORING after a while.
 :rofl;
