Title: NxStage Bugs
Post by: Marty1 on November 04, 2006, 06:18:24 AM
I heard from a home hemo nurse that all of their patients on NxStage have had the machine replaced at least once.  Anyone else having trouble with their machine as far as breakdowns?

It is fairly new technology, so I have no doubt that breakdowns are going to occur. Plus you all are dialyzing more often at home than incenter.  Besides have you seen how many machines in-center break down on a daily basis???  I see from Epoman's adventure with his machine, that the company answers fast when the machine has a breakdown and it sounds like tech help is helpful when you call.

I really hate to post this, because it will probably jinx me, but (here goes) we haven't had any problems with Nxstage or the pureflow.  We have been using nxstage since the middle of October 2006 and have had no problems whatsoever.

In the almost 7 months I have had my NxStage machine it has only broke down once, the cooling fan on the back stopped spinning and caused the internal temperature to overheat thus giving me alarms. Since then NxStage has addressed that problem and the fan in the back is more reliable due to a design change in the vent. Be sure to read my story of my machine breaking down and the outcome at http://www.ilovenxstage.com

we have been on NxStage since March 2006 - no breakdowns.  minor issues that tech support resolved.  We have had bad cartridges that is frustrating and time consuming
