What is the strangest or weirdest thing you found or put in your dialysis bag before heading out the door to dialysis?
For those on home hemo what is the strangest thing you have in your dialysis area or room?
My bag has tape, dark chocolate, cookies, headphones, sometimes a sliced up apple in a baggie. Strangest things are ski hand warmer packets and a pair of gloves.

Last week I had a half bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne in my bag and appropriate glassware to share some bubbles with the D staff and a couple of patients for new year's eve......
oh and one other time I took my cat.....

lol. I heard that a lot about last year too :) it's all good. when it happens it happens.... and then you ALL better watch out.. I'll be on my way to Vegas,baby!

Nothing really strange IN my bag...but ON my bag was a little girl with a mouth shaped like a kidney screaming the word F***, which was also written all over the bag...I know kinda vulgar but that's how I felt about getting up at 6 for dialysis.

I have a giant...and I mean giant (like 3' x 2') fluffy pink stuffed animal dog. I had a hard time trying to find a pillow and because of where my cath is and how sensitive it is if I move my head much my venous pressure plumments and the machine freaks out. So I use this huge pink dog as a pillow and put it's feet on either side of my head to remind me to stay still. Also me normal attire includes a zip up hoody that says "Kidneys for sale Buy one get one free! (not working)"

I've been to vegas several times already... the place is still standing.. however me AND the women of IHD... well, yeah that's a whole other story!!! :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

Strangest thing I carried - several dozen tiny stuffed pigs. I used my time on dialysis to sew them.
The strangest in my home hemo room was a toss up - either my ex husband, or my cat, depending on the day. . .

cause what the **** a serum holder is doiing in my rooom??????? it's place is in hospital for sick people!!!!s
i am not sick , i just have lazy kidneys
and i have 20 box of dialysis bag .

I took about 300 old baseball cards with me to D along with my computer..... I am trying to find out what they are worth..... going to sell on ebay..... I have a Willie Mays.... worth anywhere from 8000 to 50 bucks depending on condition...... I am sure I dont have the 8000 dollar one...... :rofl;

It's my bag. I take a Davita bag inside pillow, and blanket (all with their name on it) to a Fresenius facility. It is easier for me to carry and has all my stuff.

Once I opened Jenna's bag to look for a prescription the nurse said she had giver her. There were layers of every paper the dietician had given her, along with every paper the social worker had given her. She never looked at one thing, and usually slept through dialysis with a pillow over her head, so was clueless when anyone stopped by to give her info.

I just checked my bag, in the bottom was a copy of "Funny Times" from December 2008. Kept forgetting to take it out I guess.

when i did hemo (back in 2003) i used to cart my new born son with me, the nurses babysat him...... till he needed a feed or nappy change then they brought him back. He was the most popular person in the unit, all the patients loved him, he was very quiet (my gosh hasn't that changed!) and was a welcome distraction for everyone.
