Ok bit of a strange one maybe? I started pd again last night after having my new tube fitted on Friday. Every time it drained during the night I woke up with the most horrible pain in the you know where! All I could do was bite on the pillow to stop myself screaming out. Please tell me I'm not going mad and someone out there knows what this is??? :stressed;
Hope your all having a good holiday x x

Sorry, not a clue. The only "pain" I ever felt was a gentle ache as the drain neared completion, as if the abdomen was unhappy that it was empty. That only happened on manual.
-
I made a very similar post a month or so ago.
My PD nurse told me she had never heard of this before. We decided it must just be sucking and hitting a certain nerve to cause the pain. I explained it like an electrical shock. it eventually went away or i just got use to it lol.
if it doesn't get better for you i suggest you don't fully drain at night do tidal and you will only have to suffer from it on the last drain.
it only hurts at the end of a drain right?
-
The tube is probably too close to the "area". Changes in sleeping positions may help.
-
read some of my first post this was a huge problem for me, i now do tidal, and it is less of a problem. The is there almost every night. I tried many things to help. Surg, cath manipulation -very painful- pain meds, and removing my IUD.
Keep us posted

SAdly, you are not alone. I would jump around and scream like a sailor when it starting pinching my innards. What I do now is when I feel it getting ready to strike, I just pinch my tubing until it moves on to the fill cycle.
-
It always happens to me on the first cycle (i'm on rivitrol at night so once i'm asleep i don't feel it). So long as i know i'm finished draining i just bypass the machine and go to fill.
-
Yeah lou i've had that. Sometimes on the fills too.
-
me too on fills. Apparently thats kinda rare.

Just recently started CAPD. I have pain when I first start to fill and when I am at the end of the drain. It is getting better though; when I was going in for just a flush it was horrible. I had pain in my testicles, the head of the penis, bladder and prostrate. I understand the bladder and prostrate but I guess the other must be pressure on a nerve.
