i just found out that I have shingles and was wondering how that would effect if any my transplant.....

Dont know if it will affect your transplant or not, but had to tell you how sorry I am for this affliction that is shingles. Hope you get better soon.  :grouphug;

I had them when I had my transplant and it didn't affect the function at all.  There is a medication if you catch the shingles soon enough.  AND now they have a vaccine for those of you worried about getting shingles. 

Shingles is the same virus as Chicken Pox.  You can't get shingles from the Chicken Pox, but you can get Chicken Pox from the shingles.  So you are to stay away from pregnant women.  I had to stay home from work until the scabs healed over.

I went to an acupuncturist and she cleared them right up. 
You know.... acupuncture where they barely put in needles and then hook up electricity.  It worked.

My poor Mother had shingles and she was in so much pain we couldn't walk across the carpeted floor.  Thank goodness as Rerun
says there is a vaccine fir it now.  Sorry to hear you have it and hope you have a quick recovery.
