Title: Anyone here tried PD....only for it not to work?
Post by: TrophyWife on October 16, 2006, 04:11:02 AM
Hello again! Hope everyone is good... it's Fall, Yah no more hot sticky weather!
Dad is having surgery tomorrow to put a tube in his ab for PD. They are going to fix a hernia at the same time. He's 80 and has had plenty of ab surgeries. I'm scared this is not going to work. This is going on our last option with him. What do you guys think?

My wife had PD catheter placed back in November last year.  Started PD in December.  Never got good results.  That doesn't mean that your father won't do well on PD though.  Many people do like PD.  We have just started Nxstage and it seems to be doing well.  I am looking forward to labs in 3 weeks.
