I go in for an ekg and stress test yesterday, and I see the results. The only thing abnormal is an extended QT interval, which is indicative of hypokalemia. I recognize that,and so does the nurse administering the test. Being a daily extended therapy NxStage patient, low potassium is something that happens.
The fricken cardiologist put me on hold for the transplant without calling me. The first i hear of it is my coordinator leaving a message saying "I'm sure you've already heard, but I put you on hold" I can't get ahold of the cardiologist, my neph, or anybody who knows anything.
Then I finally find out by calling scheduling that I have an appointment for an angiogram next week. Really? YOU'RE SO FREAKED OUT THAT YOU PUT ME ON HOLD AND YOU DON'T SCHEDULE ANYTHING UNTIL NEXT FRICKEN WEEK?
Jackass. :rant;
The correct therapy for hypokalemia is a big glass of milk.

Enjoy your milk..

Already done.

i just hate hurry up and wait!

If your phosphorus is in check, of course. I have to rely on a baked potato for my (rare) hypokalemia. ;)

I agree. 100% Jackass know-it-all. Let him have it NEXT week! :boxing;

I agree, looks like they just want to dip into the pool of money from the insurance to pay for a tune up for one of their Ferraris!
Screw getting the angiogram, they should havetalked to you first instead of going behind your back, what i you had something planned ahead of time like another doctors appointment.
Lest the jackass have it.
They should recheck you first and should have been aware of what needs to be done for that. Dumb :sir ken;

"You have no coronary disease. I'm glad to say you can go back on the list"
Yeah, how about an apology for the week I had to be off it? Jerk.
