Today was the day Rob was supposed to have his kidney transplant. Everything was looking up and looking good. He went in on Friday for pre-op testing and to sign the consent form. 8 hours, 4 doctors, numerous nurses and techs later, Rob signs the form and is told "See you on Thursday!". Just as we pulled up to our house, we get a call from his transplant coordinator, that the surgery is off for now, because they don't have an extra operating room. You can imagine how upset and disappointed we were, especially Rob. The coordinator wasn't much help and made the situation worse. Tuesday Rob gets a call that he needs to go in for a CT Scan because they can't feel his blood supply in his leg. His last scan was 3 years ago, so a new one is due. Please pray that everything looks good on this scan.
What really annoyed us at the time was the lack of sincerity from the coordinator. I called her on Tuesday to get more info. She didn't like the qeustions I was asking (like, how could they just give away a room, there has to be more to this). After she got annoyed at me, she hung up on me. How professional.
Rob's donor is handling this well and tells us he isn't going anywhere. Now we have to fight for his non-refundable ticket. I told Mass General that they need to fix this and fast.
UGH, I hate these emotional rollercoasters!

:stressed; I cannot believe a transplant coordinator would hang up on you!
Best wishes that things are rescheduled soon! :cuddle;

I hate that this has happened. My new co-ordinator has a similar personality and I hate it. I can hear her sigh when I ask questions. She is quick to get me off the phone. You and Rob should not be treated like this. I know they are people too with their own lives, BUT it is their job to co-ordinate all of this. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and look forward to hearing that Rob has his new kidney and everyone is doing good. :2thumbsup; :cuddle;

I didn't care for my pre-transplant coordinator. She always sent these letters and copied everyone in on them saying I didn't do this test or that one. I faxed things and hand delivered things. Why didn't she just call me? I finally had my nephrologist hand deliver things directly to her (he offered, that's why I like him). Thank goodness I had all the copies of things.
I will be praying for Rob. I can not imagine how disappointed all of you are. :grouphug;

I am sorry to here about the delay!!!
I asked my coordinator why she is so impatient with me and she said that I am not her only case.
duh... she is my only coordinator.

I reallly hope they get this straightened out soon, and I would say something to someone in the office of the co-ordinator even if you have to bite your tounge until this is over so she can't do anything to mess with it any further. No one should be treated like that and especially when it is such an important matter as this is. Good luck and I do hope it hurry's itself along. :grouphug;

Any news? Not sure if I missed an update when I was in France. I hope you were able to schedule a new date. :cuddle;
