Title: monrein likes it hotter than you think
Post by: twirl on September 09, 2009, 02:30:40 PM
thanks and what a nice surprise
two bottles of hotter than a Texas summer hot sauce
Pickapeppa -- tastes like a hot barbecue sauce
Scotch Bonnet Sauce -- hotter than holy Hell -- burned a hole in my tongue -- but I love it  >:D
both sauces are good --
and I can reuse the box and the bubble wrap -
the card -- she made it -- has a beautiful photo of her brother's wisteria vine --
and monrein has lovely handwriting
thanks for a present in the middle of summer -- nowhere near my birthday or Christmas
 ;D  :bandance;

 :rofl;  at both of you.  Those are both Jamaican sauces.  I used to eat pickapeppa mixed into smoked oysters or sardines on top of crackers but it's good to use like Worstershire sauce in cooking.
The scotch bonnet sauce is bottled but my Dad used to make his own from fresh and he always had the peppers in his garden in  Florida.  We put a whole one into rice and peas (no peas really kidney beans) but if the thing breaks then the rice can be too hot for most people to eat.
I make a thai mango salad quite regularly and my secret touch is a few drops of scotch bonnet sauce because it has a great flavour in addition to the heat.

Bun up yuself twirl...said with Jamaican accent!  Some like it HOT.

Twirl, you are so lucky.  People must really like you.  What was it Sally Field said?

Twirl, there are so many new kinds of Rotel.... try them.   I love the Habanera or Scotch Bonnet.

New Mexico produces almost as good as Rotel under the Hatch label.  And it is wee bit cheaper.  Now there is the real Scotch in me.  (not racist since I'm talking about myself,  right)
