Title: Steady GfR
Post by: greco02 on September 02, 2009, 11:51:49 AM
My husbands GfR has been hovering around 20-21-20-21 for months.   Does this go on forever?  Not better, not worse.   I think waiting around from month to month to see the test results change is as difficult for me to handle as anything.

Now we hear the healthplan is questioning his need for Procrit, more labs need taken.  Do they think he is getting better?  Geez. :banghead;

Count your blessings.  If it stays at 21 forever that would be wonderful.  You can stay alive on about 10%.

Procrit is for anemia so if his hemoglobin is stabilized that that is wonderful too.

Try not to worry about it until the next lab.  Then deal with whatever that says.  Live your life.

I agree with Rerun. Mine has been hovering between 18 and 22 for over a year. Hopefully it will never go down.

mine was steady at 20-24 for 7 years, but has dropped 1 each quarter since 2007 and now is down to 10, still pre dialysis though (just)

I have been between 12-15% for three years.  And I am hoping to stay at that level for awhile.   :thumbup;
