Title: Supplies for PD
Post by: BETTY55111 on August 31, 2009, 09:07:00 PM
Is there a place where I can order PD supplies such as a PD belt and some sort of clip to drain the tube to the toilet at night?

I got my belt from my clinic.  Have you asked them?  I've seen places on the net where they sell belts, but I don't have their websites off the top of my head.  One gentleman recently posted where to find the thingy that fits on the toilet.  Take a look through some of the PD postings from about a month ago.  As for me, I just put my drain line under the toilet seat.  Never slipped out yet!

Hi Betty;   There are a few different belts.  Here's the ones that I use:  http://www.fstubbs.com/pdbelt/index.htm .  It comes with 3 in a package.   I used to tape my tube to the toilet, but recently I bought some genia clips here: http://www.kidneystuff.com/accessories.html   I LOVE those.  I bought one to keep in my travel bag also.

Absolutely!  Ask your clinic about the belts before you buy any... unless you really want them right now - then it's a worthy investment.  The genia clip is also a Godsend - perhaps we should make a PD essentials post.. things that people need to make everything go as smoothly as possible.

I dont use the belts but i was thinking and a Small tube top would hold everything in place and be cheaper then the belts.

Ah the 80's.  Do they even make tube tops anymore?

I ordered my husband a couple of belts from Stickman Industries, Inc. The guy that owns the company is an actual PD patient, so he perfected his own belt. The number I have is 1-888-366-7460.  That having been said, I can tell you that my husband used his for a while, but he prefers to go without. So, they just sit in a drawer. I think I paid around $18.00 per belt. They also have other supplies such as overnight bags, warmers, portable IV poles, etc... You could probably spend a fortune on unecessary gadgets...don't do it!! :cuddle;

You should be able to order belts with your supplies.  They come in a package of 3, like the obove poster said, and they work the best in my opinion.  I am alway wanting to try the newest and greatest invention and ordered the stickman belts also.  They say they are only good for a short time and I found that to be true and not worth the money.  They get a bit worn after a couple mths and start to roll.

No one ever gave me or mentioned a PD belt to me so I used to use the cut off top of a pair of cheap pantyhose! haha.

I bought 2 PD belts online and didn't like them.  So, I used the netting that was given to me by my PD Clinic.
