Title: Hello
Post by: Danswife on August 24, 2009, 07:10:35 PM
Hi,  I'm Lyn.  I am also Dans wife, (Danswife).  We live in the capitol city of WA state, Olympia.  It is in the south Puget Sound area.

Dan has ESRF as a result of his diabetes.  He let it get out of control and had an emergency trip to the ER with a 1400 blood sugar.  He died twice and was brought back with CPR.  Since then he has retired from his job as a building contractor and his new job is diabetes management and kidney dialysis management.  The doctors are amazed at his dedication to staying well in both areas.

I am a paraprofessional (assistant) in a special education preschool.  Got started there when our daughter, Jennifer, was a student.  Jennifer has Down Syndrome and is 37 years old and lives at home with us.  I am pretty much the caretaker of both Dan and Jennifer.

I am the only one who uses the computer in our house so I get to ask the questions and deliver the answers I get.  Hopefully everyone here will help us negotiate this road ahead.  Oh yes, Dan started his dialysis in September of 2008.

Thanks everyone for just being here as a resource.
Lyn
