Mosquitos and bugs bite me..... I think my blood has more nutritional value to them or I glow in the dark... don't know. Either way nobody in my house gets bitten as much as I do.

Well then there are at least 2 of us, exactly the same thing happens to me, and then large welts from every bite! I am so chemically sensitive that I cannot use the spray repellents that everyone else slathers on, so have to avoid the outdoor activities with everyone else........
-
I never understand this. My experience is exactly the opposite. I can sit outside with a group of peole and mosquitos are biting and one will never touch me. It must the the blood (or the soap or colognes or something). I never use the deet either.

It has puzzled me for 70 years, since very early childhood, with 3 sisters and a brother I was the only one to be singled out, so it must be some chemical "smell" from within the body that makes them zero in on me........

Hi Des...
Mum asked me to tell you that she feels your pain... She gets eaten alive by flies and mosquitoes, where there always give me a wide bearth... Been stung by bees and gone into anyplactic shock, but the smaller bugs don't bug me (Please pardon the pun!)..
Mum and I have been using Citronella Oil, and find it very effective... We ust puts a little on an item of clothing, or on our inner wrist... Seems to work... Neither of us have been either eaten or stung... Might be worth a try...

also, some people put this Avon Skin so Soft on. Lots of people rub in on their dogs....

Flies and bugs LOVE me!!! They love hubby's fistula too!!!

I too understand your situation, My wife is type 1 diabetic and I am convinced the sugar in her blood makes her a target and of course every bite becomes an infection, she scratches and always tell her not to but I understand how difficult it can be not to. hang in there you have already found you are not alone and as I am finding from this site not being along is a comfort.

i think you nailed the main culprit there Tallons5. anyone that finds themselves a snack for the bugs needs to ask themselves, 'what is it in my diet that would attract these littl e beasties?' i think the answer, more often than not, would be 'sugar.'
-
It's me again... type II diabetic and never bothered with mosquitos.

Mosquitoes are quite big and vicious in the island of Antigua where we lived in the 60's, 70's. However, I used to like when my sisters came to visit from the USA. We would get no more bites and the mosquitoes would go for them!!!
I used to hear talk about taking Vitamin B12 or something like that just before they came and it would help them.
For some reason, mosquitoes only bite me on my legs!!

I read that smelly feet attract mosquitoes! And yes, they go after my ankles, right near my stinky feet!
Now you all know my dark secret! :rofl; :rofl;

When I was young we used to go away in a caravan, and my sister and I would wake up in the morning and she'd be covered in insect bites, and I'd have none. I always wondered whether it wasn't that they didn't bite me - just that my skin doesn't react to the bite?
