Title: Physioneal
Post by: Python on October 11, 2006, 07:00:47 AM
Anyone using Physioneal and if so, how are you getting on with it, any problems etc.?  Ian (Shades-Elfen) has just been told he is going to be using it when he goes back on PD next week.  He's got a lot of misgivings about it after having a disastrous trial of Extraneal a couple of years back (he blew up like the Michelin Man!) and is busy chewing my ear about it ::)

How does getting it ready differ from Dianeal?  Ian's PD nurse is coming to the house next week to show us how to use it but I'm curious as to the difference.

there are 2 chambers...you have to hang the bag on a pole and break a cone between the chambers...top chamber drains into the bottom chamber...a little more time consuming

Hmm.  Ian uses a Baxter's Homechoice Pro machine.  Ian's worried that he might have an adverse reaction to it like he did with Extraneal and isn't too keen on changing away from Dianeal which he's fine on.  We shall have to wait and see what happens.

Epoman.  Oops.  Sorry.  Wrong forum :-[

i am also on the same machine..i had very adverse reaction to dianeal so have been on physioneal for 2 years like i said and no problems what so ever....i think once you star using physioneal you will find it to be far superior...any more questions feel free to ask...by the way you must be in Canada or the u.k. because as far as i know physioneal is not available in the states yet

I'm about to start on physioneal.  It's similar to dianeal 1.5% apparently.  Has anyone been on it recently?
