Title: What a morning
Post by: YLGuy on August 03, 2009, 11:35:01 AM
I got up this morning at the usual 5:00am.  Got ready to go and went out to my truck.  I live in a condo and park in a carport.  As I approached my truck I noticed the door a little bit ajar.  It had been broken into.  The funny thing about it is that I had really bad insomnia last night and only slept for about and hour and a half (with the window open).  They stole my bluetooth, my son's MP3 transmitter, my checkbook, some cash, some DVD's and most importantly my youngest son's portable DVD player.  The DVD player is what got me through dialysis.  My oldest son burns me shows to watch.  Unfortunately I had to charge it plugged into my car and it was visible from outside.  When they went through the center compartment they took out my handicap parking plaque so they knew they were stealing from someone with a handicap.  Being a single father of 3 on disability there is no way for me to replace these items.  I know times are tough right now.  I just have to hope that the person who stole these items needed them more than me.  I went to the bank and closed my account and opened a new one.  The police will take a report.  I am not holding my breath for the police to catch the person(s).  Most importantly I have apologized to my children that their items were stolen.   :(

Aaack, I am so sorry this happened! What a morning, indeed.

You have a wonderful, charitable attitude towards this bad luck. I have had my car broken into quite a few times - once on the night I moved to San Francisco. It is a hideous sight to wake up to.

I hope your kids aren't too crushed about it, and that you can find another way to watch shows and distract yourself at dialysis. Here's to a better afternoon....

This is certainly bad news. When things were stolen from our garage I felt so violated.

Thinking of you.

I know how you feel! My husband and I had our cars broken into a couple of months ago. Took the GPS system, my purse, and with it lots of cash. Didn't get anything back and found out it was a guy down the street.

I feel for you!

I don't know what to say or much more importantly who to say it to.  This afternoon after dialysis the doorbell rang and the UPS man delivered a new portable DVD player and headphones to me.  There is not anything inside that let's me know who sent it.  Thank you does not even begin to cover it.  I truly am at a loss for words and find it hard to type this as I am welled up.  I can not believe it. After the last couple of days I have had (too horrible to post) this happens.  Thank you.

Hi, Marc,
First off, I am not you secret donor, but I do want to say that the IHD family is the best.

I am so glad this happened to you.  :flower;

Marc...I'm welled up too!  This is a wonderful thing that someone did and most incredible of all I can think of so many people on here who are kind enough to have done such a thing.  You richly deserve it Marc!
