Does anyone tip the Baxter man that delivers the supplies? I am not sure what to do. The first time he came and I did not tip him but the next time he had to move so many boxes around that i felt guilty and tipped him. I guess I was comparing him to the Central Delivery man that just delivered and did not move stuff around.
I know tipping is a personal thing but I would like to know what most of you do.

I say....no tip. It is up to you however the baxter driver job is to deliver and rotate/shuffle the boxes. According to my driver, the company treats them well. I feel (and its just my opinion) he was out of line for taking money from you and probably could lose his job for doing so. Starting it may prompt the driver to always be looking for it and could make for uncomfortable situations.

Oh wow - I would never have thought you had to tip the Baxter man. We don't tip over here, so it's not an issue. Interesting. I think it was OK for you to tip him given he went out of his way to do a bit extra - but I think normally you shouldn't.

I'm with Fresenius, but we have the same kind of delivery service. I was told the delivery man's job was to bring the boxes in and put them exactly where I want them, even if it means reorganizing other boxes. It's strictly part of their job on every delivery because, despite what each of us is capable of, we still officially are not suppose to lift more than 10/20 pounds (those of us on PD), and every one of my solution boxes is 22+ pounds.

No ..deffo no tip otherwise thats like tipping everyone that works ! He gets paid to do the job ( and i dont know about over there but our drivers are well paid) I tend to have the same couple of regular drivers who are brill , so if its a hot day , i make them a cold drink and if its a cold rainy day , i make them a hot drink ! Oh and at christmas they get a card !

My mum's on CAPD, and the Baxter Delivery Man is great, but we don't tip... Nobody I know does...
At Christmas we gave him a bottle of whisky and a box of chocolates as we do with the postman, bimmen, newspaperman, etc...

Thanks for the advice. I was never sure what to do, now I will feel comfortable not tipping. Although I do offer a cool drink as he is leaving.

If I have the same guy pretty much all year, I will tuck a $20 in his shirt pocket in December. Too often, though, they keep changing delivery guys. In the 6 years I've been on PD, I only tipped one delivery guy who had been with me all year.

I know this thread is a little old, but I haven't been around. I called Baxter when I first started, and asked them if it's proper to tip the delivery men. She said "Oh no! How nice of you to ask; I've never had anyone ask that before, but no, you absolutely do not tip the drivers." There ya go!

I believe, I could be wrong, but it is against their policy to receive any tips or gifts of any kind. I work in a hospital and we can get fired for accepting gifts from patients so I would assume they would be the same.
