Title: Thanks, Twirl!
Post by: petey on July 13, 2009, 07:11:02 PM
I received a surprise in the mail today.  Ohhhhhh, I love surprises!  Marvin comes back from the mail box and says, "Who do you know in Texas?"

Ummm...George W. Bush?  Ummm ... no, he wouldn't send me anything.  Wait a minute, Marvin; I'm thinking...

So, I finally give up and open the card.  Inside is a beautiful bookmark with a baby Pug on it.  It looks like my Hop-Sing when we was a tiny pupster.  I love it.  I love it.  I love it.  I love Twirl.

Thank you, Twirlie Girl...you made my day.

Twirl you're the best!  Lee came in today asking (like Marvin did) "So who do you know in Texas"?  Right away I knew it was from Twirl and of course it was.

A big package of wildflower seeds...I just have to find a good spot.  Thanks twirl....you're very special and very sweet.

LOL U 2

As for lottery tickets be very careful.

Karen had me pick up a pick 6.  Now if i could do life over i would have had the computer pick random numbers.
As it is we sat down and picked 6 numbers out of 50.  This was a few years ago.  I am now afraid not to play these numbers every month.  For im sure the week i dont buy them they will be picked.  It is an evil thing we did..

My turn MY TURN  !!!!    :guitar:

My American Sant :guitar: sent me some grits and Rotel... now I haven't cooked the grits yet... I am thinking that they look alot like creamed wheat that you eat in the mornings??

Twirl I was laying in dialysis today and low and behold next week is SHARK WEEK  I burst out laughing....  FWIRL you are the funniest!!!
Title: Re: Thanks, Twirl!
Post by: twirl on July 28, 2009, 03:41:47 PM
Fhark week is next weekkkkkk?????? I have not heard a word here ---
I watched part of Jaws 2 today and what a crock of crap -- nothing real about it ---

eat the rotel with chips
grits are good with cheese and butter and pepper - I never use salt --
some people use grits with shrimp --? I don't get that>>>>>>
or better yet, melt velvetta cheese and add the rotel for a chili conqueso dip---
you will be saying "Ya'll and Howdy" in no time

Grits?  Palenta?  Pretty much the same.

Rotel... don't waste it.

Brown pork chops in a little olive oil with tad of flour.
Cover with gobs ot sliced onions and top with rotel.
Cook a long  time and eat with fried beans and white tortillas.

if you have any left over for tomorrow add some crawdad or armadillo meat.

Post by: Chris on July 28, 2009, 04:50:01 PM
OK, what is rotel? My first thought was a roach motel, but that is wrong

Haven't seen anything advertised yet on TV about Shark Week and they usually do it big.

I also have no clue what to send Twirl.
Title: Re: Thanks, Twirl!
Post by: dwcrawford on July 28, 2009, 04:54:43 PM
rotel is a can of tomato and peppers with spices... (mexican type spice)   comes in mild, regular and hot.

most often put in melted velveta cheese and served with tortilla chips... (easy chili  con queso)
Title: Re: Thanks, Twirl!
Post by: kitkatz on July 28, 2009, 09:29:51 PM
Grits should be eaten with sugar and butter.
Title: Re: Thanks, Twirl!
Post by: dwcrawford on July 29, 2009, 05:00:14 AM
Grits should be eaten with butter and pepper as a side dish to fried eggs, bacon, biscuits and cream gravy.  Grow up and eat a real breakfas!!!  Then go hoe the cotten.

Post by: Zach on July 29, 2009, 05:21:48 AM
I like cheddar cheese in my grits.

Then you must hoe to the end of the row!

NEVER EAT SUGAR ON GRITS --- don't listen to Kitkatz -- she is not a Texan   :waving;

Crawford - that chop recipe sounds good and I will try it  ;D

I have not seen Shark week advertised --- what if they don't honor shark week in Conroe    >:(

Chris - rotel - roach motel ---  :urcrazy; :urcrazy; :urcrazy;
acutally, some of my students told me to place jalpeno jucie in bowls and it will kill roaches
never tried it  - didn't want to waste the juice

Kimmie - do I need to send you some velvetta?
you got the mild rotel -- the hot would burn your tongue off -
let me know when you are ready for the real hot rotel
and be ready to burn

No sugar on grits!    Cheese, butter  -- no sugar!    And rotel is a yummy ingrediant to spice up any meat dish. And with velveeta---bring on the chips!   :2thumbsup;

sometimes I cook a little white rice, add a can of pinto beans and a can of hot rotel....  not bad and only have to clean up one pan...  Rotel is a miracle food.

Oh, Hanify, you must come to the South to get your grits. I will eat anything on grits, including maple syrup. My favorite, though is garlic cheese grits.

FYI, grits are made from dried hominy corn that is ground up. You cook them up in water to make a white mush. Then add whatever ingredients to make your yummies.

 :clap; :clap;

I'll take Cream of Wheat, flavored Oatmeal, or CoCo Wheats any day over grits. Apple Cinamon Cream of Wheat  is the best  :2thumbsup;

If I ever go to Texas to go get Blue Bell Ice Cream, I'll have to stop over to try some homemade grits. Forgot what else I wanted to eat from Texas.

Was it the eggs over wasy cookies? Hmmm I'll have to look what I posted some time ago.
