Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 29 year old man who has been a tech for the last 8 years and am in the process of getting my nursing degree. I heard about this site from a patient, checked it out and here I am!!!!

Hi,
Welcome......
If you promise not to take all the bad things we say about techs personally we promise to accept you as one of the crowd.
;)

:welcomesign; Ohio tech...glad to have you here.

I want to echo what Des said.
Lots of patients need a place to vent. Just remember it isn't directed at YOU! :rofl;
We really welcome you perspective, though.

Happy to have you on this site. :welcomesign;

Hello and Welcome.
:welcomesign;
I hope you learn how to be a better tech from this site. Lots of people are too shy to say something is wrong.
Best thing to do is "listen to your patients"..... they know their bodies.
-
Welcome to the group. Come on back and post often.
-
Welcome to the community!
Looking forward to your insights.
And congrats on working towards your nursing degree.

Welcome to the site. Congrats on your nursing - good on you!

Great to have you here! I have seen a couple of other dialysis techs and nurses join this group. There are definitely some great dialysis techs and great nurses out there that are very passionate about their work and want to learn more. :cuddle; Then there are the dialysis techs and nurses that should have become bill collectors, no compassion whatsoever. :boxing; I have not seen one Nephrologist on this board yet. I think the docs could learn a lot from joining this group.
Thanks for being so passionate about your work that you want to learn more from joining this group. :grouphug;

Yes, it is great to have you here. Don't take our rants personally. In any occupation, there are good ones and bad ones. We will be happy to have your input and your point of view.

You will hear bitching about the staff! Unfortunately that's about 75% of the discussion here. I go to Houston Med Center Davita and have nothing but praises for nurses and tech. They are helpful, knowlegable, considerate and friendly. (well maybe 2 out of the hundreds on staff could use sensitivity training, but those are great odds.)
Anyway, welcome.

Welcome to our community, OhioTech! I am glad that you decided to join. It does show that you have concern for those in your charge. This site was developed for everyone with any connection whatsoever to this renal challenge (and even anyone with no connection). So you have a voice here, even though (as others have told you) some harsh things can be said at times! This is more than just a website - it is a family :grouphug; and you are now part of it. Keep reading and please keep posting.
Good Success with nursing degree. :bestwishes;

Hi Ohio Tech. Glad you joined IHD. It is a great community and we all learn from each other. I'm from Ohio--family still in Columbus. I go back when I need a Donatos fix! Looking forward to learning more about you. Welcome!
