DaVita Celebrates the Opening of Its 1,500th Outpatient Kidney Care Clinic in the United States

DENVER, June 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DaVita Inc. (NYSE: DVA - News), a leading provider of kidney care services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), today announced its 1,500th outpatient dialysis and kidney care clinic in the United States has opened in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

"We are pleased to announce that the Gulf Shores, Alabama clinic will hold the distinction of being number 1,500."
The Gulf Shores center is a state-of-the-art facility providing in-clinic and at-home hemodialysis, as well peritoneal dialysis. The facility currently provides care to 19 kidney care patients in the region, as well as a substantial number of traveling dialysis patients. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will be held on July 16, 2009 with Alabama State Rep. Greg Wren expected to attend.

It would appear DaVita thinks they can achive this lofty goal by sheer numbers alone. As a DaVita patient for the last 2 1/2 years, I would say they need to move quality patient care from the back burner right up to the front where it belongs.
