Dialysis patient left out in the sun
By Arif Al-Suweidi
Saudi Gazette
HAIL – Health Affairs is investigating staff at Hail’s King Khalid Hospital after a female patient was left in her bed outside the hospital building fully exposed to the heat of the afternoon sun after undergoing dialysis.
Concerned bystander Ahmed Al-Shamri said he went into the hospital to express his concern at seeing the patient outside the entrance, but said he was met with indifference on the part of staff.
“One of the nurses said she would return the patient to the kidney department after she had got her mobile phone fixed,” Al-Shamri said. “I went in search of the manager on duty but he was nowhere to be found.”
When visitors at the hospital failed to convince any member of staff to address the situation, they took it upon themselves to wheel the patient back inside the building.
A hospital official said that those responsible for the incident would be punished according to regulations. – Okaz/SG

I bet the ones held responsible will be shot.

Is that another bad thing for dialysis, no sun exposure? Or, is it the meds. Poor thing must have been dying of thirst.
