OK, so Rob switched dialysis centers, he is now back at the original one he started with when he did in-center. He LOVES the staff there and his home hemo nurse is an absolute doll. She actually comes out to the house once a month to gather his labs. His Neph has his bloodwork results each month on time and she bends over backwards to help Rob out. YEAH!
Here's the frustrating part. His new hospital that is associated with his center doesn't approve of Epo, they have him on aranesp (sp?) and his nurse has to administer it twice a month. Also, Rob's anemia is horrible, so he takes Venipher every 2 weeks. Well, his center's hospital doesn't approve of him self administering it, so now he has to either do a session once a month in-center to give him venipher or he would have to go to a Cancer Chemo center and get an IV Drip once every 3 months. How freaking frustrating!
I have been administering Rob's Epo and Venipher for 2 years now, never a problem and it has controlled his hemoglobin and anemia to be normal. Unbelievable how it changes from center to center. Rob's Neph tried to fight the hospital on this and they wouldn't budge. UGH!

Sorry to hear about the troubles and I can see how you are frustrated. It is amazing to me the differences between centers. I didn't have a good nurse, she was the type that would tell you what you wanted to here, even though she should have been telling you somehting different. It turned out to be a disaster and I ended up in a hospital for a week because of it!
I wish you the best!!!!!
