Title: Bone Bucks - a thing of the past
Post by: twirl on June 03, 2009, 12:35:54 PM
bone bucks have been stopped --- I always gave mine away -- the reason -- Davita is having cut back -
there is no more money for rewards for good behavior at dialysis - so I got two free bone bucks because it was the last time - I spent them on Rerun -- I got a donated book with photos of puppies -- so I am mailing it to her if I ever go to the post office - please do not tell her - she likes surprises - the book has some photos taken in the 1970's  --- she will love it
no more bone bucks -- here goes the clinic - with no rewards--- we will all go crazy ----  :sir ken;

Seriously, understanding all types of accents even very foreign and very "broken" English ones,  is one of my strongest skills.  In restaurants, I often have to translate accents for my friends and I use the same shortcuts as the "foreigner" so if they don't use tenses I skip them too.  My friends think it's odd but it does come in handy.   I can imitate a few too but I don't unless the person I'm imitating is in on it and knows that I'm not making fun of them.  Often people will apologize for their "accent" but as I like to say..."Well your English is a lot better than my Mandarin or Swahili or Greek or whatever".

So yeah y'all I git whut twirl sez jus fiiiiine.!

Crawford Plays a lot... you never know what is real.  But to set matters straight Crawford pretty well speaks Standard American English unless he's playing Texas.  I like it all.

My nurse today was Persian.  Lovely lady with a beautiful accent.

Come join my center, twirl - we just started Bingo with our lab results. Best phos, Ideal calcium, Necessary albumin, Great Potassium, and Optimal fluids.  Anyone who gets them all gets entered in a prize raffle.  Maybe I can use your left over bone bucks to buy a vowel!

As far as I know they never had bone bucks at fresenius. But we do get stars if we do good. I get stars every time. (almost) Never got any bone bucks. Haven't even heard of'em 'til today. Ah'mona ask about'em tomorrow. I always heard that Davita was the redhead step-brother of the dialysis community, but they quit giving them anyway. CUT BACKS, What are gonna do about that? >:D

There once was a woman by the name of Twirl,
Who thought she would give bone bucks a whirl.
She discovered to her ever widening dismay
The dietician would not let her give them away.

Twirl's dietitian had started a program where she rewarded people with something she called bone bucks.  They were called bone bucks because they were given to people for good phosphorous levels, which affect the bones of kidney patients.  Twirl thought it was silly and would give any bone bucks she received to another patient.
