Title: Disposal of Packs
Post by: redz812 on May 30, 2009, 06:25:54 AM
When my husband is done with a pack we put it out on the curb enclosed in the cardboard box for trash pickup. The trash people are sporadic in removing the packs. Even though I write on the box "trash", it seems sometimes the trash people are confused and leave the packs for the recycling truck. What do you do about disposal of packs? Thanks...

Well the recycling truck just took the packs. This can't be right...

We start our Pureflow training on Monday, but with the bags, we were told to double bag them and put them in the trash.

I cut up the shipping box and put it in the recycles, the black Pak I put on top of the garbage can and haven't had any problems with pickup. maybe they are confused by the box looking like it is recyclable.......

OUrs fits in the garbage container.  I use it to compress everything else.

It's so heavy, I can't really do more than slide it down the steps and square wheel it. I live in Philly and there was some talk of charging for trash removal by the number of bags! Of course how they would do that, I can't imagine. We always have the most bags on the block! ;D

I cut mine open. Just cut the black tape and it opens like any other box. Inside you will find the filters, they are just plastic and even one that looks like the dialysis filter. Bottom line, I chuck the filters in the trash and give the box to the recyclers. Its multiple trips to the curb, but easier to carry.
