I'm on simvastatin. Sorry, no odd swelling ankles here - but I'm on a really low dose.

I'm on a moderate dose of simvastatin, no side effects.

I am also on a low dose of simvastatin with no swelling. Can your Dr. switch you?

Are you sure it is that drung that is making your anles swell?

I used to be on Zocor. All the statin commercials, including Zetia, say, "if you experience muscle pain or weakness, it is a sign of a rare but serious side effect." Well, that was me. About one in a million suffer rhabdomyolisis, which was the proximate cause of my kidney failure (high blood pressure being the long term cause). I know that hundreds of thousands of people use statins safely; I just always caution people now. I have had really good luck with an OTC product called CholestOff. It contains plant sterols and stanols. My cholesterol is under 200, HDL is fine, triglycerides are fine, only the LDL is a little off. Good luck to you!

Thanks for all responses.. spoke with tx coordinator today and told my last labs were excellent ( 3 weeks ago)that long hours i work and that i was fine, the Dr prescribed some lasix see if that would help with my fluid retention. Just cant help to worry about every little thing. Thanks everyone!! God Bless Chris
