Hesitantly I accompanied my husband to Houston (from San Antonio) today to deliver a 10,000 pound. tank to a customer. Just moments before we left we stopped to fuel up. My husband heard a hissing noise and noticed that one of the tires on the trailer was splitting. We gingerly made our way down the access road to GoodYear and had that tire, as well as another trailor tire on the opposite side replaced (ca-ching $250). We get on the road (IH-10) and that is one bumpy Hwy.
Anyway, we made if safely - driving roughly 50-60 MPH's the whole way. On our way home we got more than 1/2 way back, and we pulled in to IHOP to use the facilities. When we were pulling out my husband looked back in his side mirrow and noticed one of the tires on the trailor was flat (not the new one). So he went directly across the street to fill it up and as soon as we pulled into the Exxon parking lot he yelled "CRAP! Another tire just fell off!" I have been laughing nonstop since. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
I'm going to start taking our video camera with us everywhere!
Thank God we were able to make it back home! I'm so tired!!!!

An exciting day there with the tires!
-
I get days like that all the time. I think I should just stay in bed somedays. :banghead;
-
I'm sure he was glad to just have you along and to listen to you laugh. Transplants are so good.
-
really shouldn't have given those tyres Pap Smears should you??? :rofl;
-
HA! That's what I get for threatening Richard with a PAP!
Considering I didn't want to go with him, we are very thankful I did. We are also very thankful the tire didn't come off on the way up there with that big, heavy tank. That could have been really, really bad for a lot of people.
-
Yes, RM...you could be right...Pap Sm could definately have thinned them in spots :rofl;
-
he he I am evil. Sorry I couldn't resist that one.
I too am glad it worked out OK for you and hubby Kelly!!! That's amazing you guys kept having tyre troubles.. I would have thought it was karma somehow....
-
Karma has crossed our minds on numerous occasions. Things like this are pretty common around here. We have come to the conclusion that God just likes messing with us and until we start to laugh about it he's going to continue. He's gotten quite creative here recently, I must say. :) But like my husband said yesterday, when things like this happen he always thinks "God has provided everything I need to get out of this situation. Think.". And he is always able to get out. He has to rig stuff with rocks, wood, string - whatever, but he was able to get tht trailer home safely last night and we are thankful for that. We did laugh, though.
Maybe we were being punked? Punked by God! ;) Maybe he is simply trying to tell us to GO TO CHURCH!

Oh Geeze! My husband and I were in the Commercial end of the tire business for years, having a tire fall off is the one thing you NEVER want to hear. Its lucky it didn't fly off going down the road. Glad you got home safe!
