I started the training today my husband is my partner, it is so different it feels like it is going to be less confining more freedom and less restrictions. I have read alot of the posts about being on the NxStage machine how everyones labs are better and how you feel I cant wait it sounds so good. :cheer: :cheer:

Keep us posted! :cheer:
I'm sitting right here in my den with the NxStage machine humming beside me!

More fluid, more food choices, more energy, more freedom - what's not to love!
-
wOOt! Its a pain to train, but its worth it.
-
You are gonna like having more control over your treatments. Don't worry if you stumble a little in the beginning - it all smoothes out rather quickly. Be sure to ask if you have any questions, many of us have been using that machine for a long time.
-
I've been using the bags with ours, but we are switching to Pureflow in a couple of weeks. Go in for two days of training and then switch. Looking forward to that.
NxStage is awesome.

Training is going good we are using my permacath now while my fistula heals, my arm looks terrible bruised and swollen, 27 stitches.
-
Ouch! You'll be able to tell some stories on that!
Keep us posted on the rest of your training.
I blogged about our NxStage training. You can read about it at:

Today Dave hooked me up to my permacath he did great. :yahoo;
-
Yeah Dave!!!!

Way to go, Dave!
You've obviously got a good one there, Cookie!
I know that I started cannulating my Marvin during our second week of NxStage training. I was scared to death, but I didn't let it show. I just took those needles (and I had never TOUCHED needles before) like they were mine, I followed the nurse's directions, and away I went. Marvin said I was so confident -- he couldn't see that all of my insides were quivering. I've been the only one to cannulate Marvin's fistula now for almost two years. Nothing to it. Why was I so scared?

Training is going good, I had my stitches out today and my surgeon will check it again in 4 weeks he wants to give my fistula time to heal which I am happy. We start at home on wed 6/10, my nurse that is training us is coming to our house on wed to help and make sure everything is setup ok. We will be using the bags.
-
Keep up the good work, Cookie. :cheer:

:cheer: :cheer: we finished our training today, we brought home all the supplies and our first delivery is due tomorrow. Donna our training nurse will be coming over in the morning for our first treatment at home. Its really exciting and I know I havent been on it long only 3 weeks but I feel so much better and my labs has shown a big improvement. :bandance; :bandance;
-
Yay! :flower;
I hope you "enjoy" your NxStage as much as we do! :yahoo;
-
Good luck!!! When it comes time to use the fistula - will you need another session with the nurse since you weren't able to use it as much during the training? Do you have all the supplies necessary (needles) for dialysis with the fistula?
-
Congrats! Rob has been on NxStage for over 2 years and loves it. He feels sooo much better and has lots more energy.
-
My treatment went good today, I have all the supplies except the needles we have to start over using them when my fistula heals, there treating my fistula as a new one. My nurse will be coming to my house to help my husband Dave start my buttonholes. I read everyones posts about how happy they are and how everyone feels. When the delivery came today I was waiting for a truck instead a mini van pulled in loaded to the hills, my bedroom looks like a storeroom but thats alright. :yahoo; :yahoo;

When the delivery came today I was waiting for a truck instead a mini van pulled in loaded to the hills,
:rofl; :rofl;
I had that surprise, too and nearly had a cow because the family across the street parked in a way that a truck could not have gotten in my driveway. I was having a hissy fit because I couldn't get them to answer the door so I could ask them to move their cars. Then the delivery arrived in a van. :clap; :clap;
I hope the folks across the street di not see it come. :shy;
