My name is Arnold and I am very new to this posting "thing".   So, if this gets through, I will try a more detailed introduction.

Hi again,
  Well let`s see where should I start?  In September of last year, I had three things happen at once, I broke my hip, I developed an irregular heartbeat, and I started dialysis. September was not a good month. 
  It`s now May.  I have a graft now, last week it messed up, and it was repaired on Monday.  I just "love" hospitals, but I did learned that your attitude effects how easy your trip to one is.  Want to hear another funny thing?  I use to hate needles.  Now they are just needles.  After you get "stuck" about hundred times, you laugh at nurses that say, "This might hurt a little bit." when they take blood.
  Well so much for my first post.  I don`t know if this is what counts as an introduction, but it`s mine.   Hope to be contributing to this forum anyway I can and feed back is all ways welcome.

 :welcomesign;  NC.   This is a great place to be...IHD and NC.  While I don't mind the Dialysis needles, I

still "hate" the blood draw and any tiny ones because I know they are going to try places that I can't stand.....back of hand etc....that's my big fear of hospitals.  Otherwise, we can do it.

Hi Arnold and  :welcomesign;  We can talk needles all day so you've found the right place.  We also have a lot of experience with all aspects of dialysis and look forward to hearing about yours as well.

Yes, I know the feeling about needles now - specially when you get a "normal" needle for something like a vaccination or drawing some blood or something.

The other week we had annual flu shots at work so I dutifuly joined the line of employees waiting for the jab and I had to control my mirth at all the people going on and on about the big needle and how much it hurts and so on!  :rofl; I was really on the verge of paraphrasing Mick Dundee with a "That's not a needle... now THIS is a needle!" but I didn't have a 15 guage with me!  :rofl; too funny!

I feel you there.  I better attitude helps you with everything in life.  But hospital stays just might be at the top of the list for me.  And for the needle thing, now I just laugh at people who are freaking out because they need to get a little blood done.
