15% rise in Iran dialysis patientsTehran Times Health Desk
Number of dialysis patients increases about 15% in Iran each year, managing director of a dialysis filter manufacturer said here on Wednesday.
The annual growth rate of dialysis patients in the world is 6%, while it is about 15% in our country, Saeed Rahmani lamented, putting stress on the need for providing more medical equipments to the patients.
According to Rahmani, “Over 20,000 of Iranians go on dialysis now”.
Referring to the increasing use of dialysis filters around the world, Rahmani said that Iran has become 100% self-sufficient in dialysis filters since 1995.
