For a 1000ml fill it should take 20 minutes or less. Have you tried changing positions? I found standing up worked well.

I take it you are new to CAPD ? Everyone is different some people take 20 mins others take 40 mins. The easiest way to see if its finished is to watch or hang the drain bag on scales and obviously if the amount is not going up then your drain is finished, others might get a pinching feeling or tugging in your stomach, that also tells you that you are pretty much empty. You should get back at least the amount you put in plus a bit more , so 600 isnt good. You could try draining in different positions , sat , lay down etc, but if you have only just started dialysis i would give your clinic a ring and tell them you only got 600 back on your drain. :thumbup;

When I was on CAPD, I drained pretty fast. Normally it takes me 10-15 minutes to drain and by that time, I start to feel the pinching pain. This lets me know I'm done. Just like what Kickstart said, you should pull out the same amount you put in and then some. I use to put in 2000mls and drain out from 2200-2500mls.
I would definitely get with your PD clinic.

Oh wow... an hour seems way too long to me. Usually takes me about 10 minutes to drain (both manually and on the cycler). Definitely ask your nurse about it.

After the nurse had me change positions and move around a bit it opened up and drained. Now I drain in about 15 min,
Thanks for all the info.
