HI. :waving; My name is Elaine and I am new here. I have been on dialysis for 6 years (hemodialysis) and I can't believe I finally found a dialysis support group. Oh and by the way, I love the name of this site. Anyway, I am a 52 year old women with diabetes, end renal failure and gastroparesis. Try working with that mess. LOL
Anyway, I still work (overnights) and I seem to be having trouble working my full eight hours. MY body :thumbdown; seems to be having trouble staying awake for that long of a period. It just shuts down. I do know that my iron is low (9.6) so I know thats part of my problem.
I am thinking of getting the Gastric bypass because my weight is out of control and diets don't seem to help me. I lose weight and then gain it back. Has anyone here done the bypass and want to share their experience? It would really be nice to talk to people about it.
Thanks
Elaine

Welcome! My sister-in-law, a.k.a. my donor, had gastric bypass a few years ago and she has done really well. I've heard of horror stories, but she's done really well with her weight loss and health. She was healthy enough to donate! :thumbup;
So glad you found us. It's a great site. You will love it here! :waving;

Thanks everyone :bandance; . I have been looking so long and now that I found you I feel very welcome.
So, let me tell you more about myself. i have been on dialysis for 6 years. I am a diabetic and I also have gastroparesis due to the diabetes. :puke; Dialysis is always fun for me because we always play the what's my blood pressure now? game. Anyone else have problems with their blood pressure? I have some really funky readings. My best one was 25/15 standing. But I have had readings like 40/90, 249/132 and lets not get into my pulses. I have gotten 39 to 182. But don't worry, they were all false readings. I was fine. The machine was crazy :2thumbsup; . Luckily I have been at the same clinic all this time, so they are used to my odd readings. Thank God because I don't think I want to train new people at this stage.
Well, I guess I ought to go back to work. Oh, did I mention I still work? Yeah well I do. I work overnights, so you will most likely see me during the night hours posting.
Well hope everyone has a wonderful night. Will post more later. ;)
