Marvin and I have volunteered in a youth baseball league for 24 years. Even though we don't have children of our own, we have always enjoyed spending time with the kids at the ballpark. Marvin's brother Buddy (we just lost him in January to pancreatic/liver cancer) was also very involved in the Dixie Youth Baseball organization. Marvin's nephew, Frankie, (Buddy's son) volunteers, too. This year, we've added two more members of our family to the baseball organization -- Marvin's nephew, Graham, and his great-nephew, Sky, are assistant coaches. Sky helps with Marvin's team, and Graham helps with a younger team. It does Marvin so much good to see the "younger generation" getting involved in a program that he loves so much.
Here's a picture of us from "picture day." I'm on the left, Sky (age 15) is next to me, then Graham (age 18), and then Marvin. And, yes, Sky is a tall one -- 6'2" and still growing at 15 years old.

cool photo
football, baseball and basketball were our sports -
all three children were in the sports -
some days I did not know if I was coming or going with all the games -
my husband coached their teams in school and out of school -
thank the Lord, I did not start dialysis until Allen was in 10 th grade and he could drive -
we also had Missy in drill team and cheerleading
life was so wonderful back then, and I wish I would have stopped to "smell the roses"
now Allen is an Aggie and that is an new experience and we are lovin' it

Nice Pic!
I'm volunteering to help with my friend's T-ball team this year. She's coaching for her 7 yr old daughter's team. When she asked me to help, I just laughed at her. We went to high school together - she knows I'm not coordinated at any sport involving a ball. I asked her what she needed me to do. "Just stand there and throw the ball back to me." HA! Hope she wears lots of padding! The season is only a month and half, so I'm pitching in. Her bruises will heal!

:rofl;
Just came back from the first T-ball practice. Wahhahahahahaha - An hour of "Get the Ball!" "No, not you - you're on base - run home!" "No, not you- you're outfield right now; get the ball!" Everyone ends up in a puppy pile while the ball rolls away, and no one runs anywhere. Toooooooo funny!
