Is there anyone about the same age as me who is on dialysis ? I'm 16 years old and I live in London. My msn is matthew_as123@hotmail.com, feel free to add me. '' Life is hard but we have to always look on the bright side ;) I'm a optimistic person. Nice to see you all. The story is a bit old but I'm on dialysis four days a week for four hours. I miss alot of school and I got many bad/good days... however I will never give up because I belive I can find a kidney for me to have a transplant. So talk to you all on forum :)

In 22nd September 1992, There was a boy who born in Thailand to a happy family. He grew up with many diseases but he was very happy that his parents were always supporting him. At 4 years old he discovered that he got a heart problems and needed to go to Australia to have an open heart sugery. He wasn't scared and after the surgery he feels much better. At 6 years old he went to England and studied a primary school called Ashburnham Primary School, after year he moved back to Hong Kong. He studied there for 6 years and unlucky discovers that he got another disease called Renal failure. He was put on dialysis for every single day except Sunday for 4 hours. At the age 15 he was admitted to a new local state secondary school called Hurlingham and chelsea and he remembers the first day at school he was organized to a form called 10 DO. He was a very quiet boy and the new students he met in the form were very different to his friends when he were young.

Hi Matthew! Welcome to this site. I'm not the same age as you, I actually have a son about the same age. But, I'm a good listener. Many of us are on this site. Feel free to post whenever you like, and you'll be surprised at how many replies you'll receive -- all very willing to listen, chat, help, joke - whatever you need. You also might want to to check out the Chat room - it's a lot of fun with some great people. Generally, people start arriving in the room during the evening.
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!!

:welcomesign; Matthew. It is so hard to hear about someone so young going through so much. Hang around with us. Everyone here understands kidney disease and the effects it has on your life, be it young or older. We are glad you found us and we hope to hear more from you. I'll say a prayer that you get that kidney soon. :cuddle;

Hey Matt. I'm so glad you found us here and I hope that you'll post often. I loved the song and hope you'll put us on to many more in the future. I wish you weren't having to deal with all the illness rubbish but I know that your attitude towards life will make it a bit easier...although any form of the word easy doesn't fit very well in this situation.
Please know that you now have a whole bunch of new friends from all over the world and we are very willing to share this journey with you even though we aren't close to your age. I myself am 55 although I have had kidney disease since I was a baby.

Matthew - Welcome to IHD. I'm so glad you found us and we look forward to all your posts. You are an amazing young man to deal with what you do each day. Continue to be strong and never give up. There is always Hope and it will happen for you. Believe me, because it happened to me in less than a year being on the transplant list. Are you currently on a transplant list?
Take care,
Rookiegirl (aka Mary)

Hey Matthes, I'm 68 years old and only have renal failure for a couple of months. Just started dialysis. I'm here feeling sorry for myself and your sweet post made me tear up. I'm so ashamed when I feel sorry for me when there are so many sweet kids like yourself living this with a positive attitude. Please continue to post (and send songs) as you inspired me.
Dan
PS: Not many people for you to talk to your age. Same here, except backwards. Not many people around this old.
-
Dan, Dan.
You are 68 years YOUNG!!!!! :2thumbsup; And you have a tender heart! :cuddle;

its true that I have nothing to talk to the old guys in dialysis about.... besides, they all just sleep. I end up talking to the young techs...
Matthew just ripped my heart out though. Makes me feel guilty when I sit here feeling sorry for myself.
-
Old or young, left or right, white or black or anything in between, male or female, experienced or new...what we all have in common is so much greater than any of our differences...that's what makes this board a very special place, for me at any rate.
-
Right on, Monrein! :yahoo;
And I love your new picture! :2thumbsup;

Hi Matthew :welcomesign; to IHD.
Like MandaMe1986 I'm a bit older than u. 24 this july.
I started dialysis when I was 19, but I was diagnosed with a kidney disease when I was 2. It's a tough thing to live with at any age. And we all have good/bad days. That's the great thing about this site. everyone here understands that and all the rants. we've all been there. but welcome to the site and I hope you'll take full advantage of it. i wish i'd found this site years ago. it's a big help. i know for me it makes me feel not so alone. in any case if you ever need to just bitch and otherwise moan. :rofl; feel free to add me to msn. withered_rose69@hellokitty.com
hope you have more good days than bad.
Sherri

Thanks for replying everyone :thumbup;
Sherri you made that hotmail when you are young? I bet :P haha bitch or moan about life? Nah it's really unnecessary because at the end of the day, life move on :) but I could share my feelings with you.
@dwcrawford Don't feel sorry or guilty for yourself. Look at the bright side there's nothing to feel guilty or sorry, it just you have to think posite from now on. ''Everything's gonna be ok'' As I said life goes on, you have just to face it and kill it. It won't suddenly goes away, however you need to think a way to get a better life like the song '' Someday ''
Thanks everyone :)

:welcomesign; Matthew!
My daughter just turned 15 an she has been on hemo-dialysis for 1 1/2 years. I will send you her email address.
There is another teenager in dialysis with her and he is 16 and his name is also Matt. He had a transplant when he was a baby, then cancer when he was 7 and unfortunately his transplanted kidney failed at 15...but he is cancer free. He is the most amazingly positive teenager that I have ever met. I will pass along your email address to him.
Sorry that you have to go through all of this. I know that it stinks. Are you listed for a kidney transplant? I hope that you get a new kidney an have good health and much happiness.
