Title: Bladder pain after urinating?
Post by: Chris on April 28, 2009, 12:35:42 AM
I haven't contacted a doctor yet because it only happened for a couple days this wekend. I know that I have some bladder problemsdue to dialysis and diabetes, but starting last Friday afte urinating and a little while urinating (delayed reaction) I develop and pain in the bladder area and goes awayI'm reluctant to call because the transplant center never looked into another pain problem I have if I have to wait to use the facilities and they usually want the pain going on so tey can investigate and do nothing about it. If I have to wait to use the facilities, I get a pain in my left leg/ groin area that seems to be in the femoral artery area.

Does this happen to anyone else?

It sounds like it could be a bladder infection.

I agree - possible bladder infection.  Or your bladder could be spasming.  Mine did that for about a week after getting my catheter out.   It's not a good feeling.

Kellyt - I'm scheduled next Monday @ 9am to have my stint remove.  Is spasming normal?  What does that mean?  Is it painful?

I haven't called the doc yet on it, keep forgetting to since it hasn't happened again. On one of the ultrasound reports I have, it says that there is scarring in the bladder  ??? But it was also done on an empty bladder because the idiot who scheduled me toold me not to drink or ea anything that day, nothing about holding it in!

No idea what a spasm feels like, but since it was not short burst of pain, I doubt it was a spasm. It was long and drawn out, not very comfortable. I didn't have any real problems with the stent removal except for them going up there to go get it in a male prespective  ::) and then pulling it out.

My stent removal was absolutely painless.  You feel some "pressure", but no pain.  The bladder spasms feel like you have a full bladder, even after you've emptied your bladder.  Does that make sense?  You know how you feel when you bladder is extremely full?  You kind of have that feeling for a brief period after voiding.  My spasms went away after a few weeks, maybe less.

Definitely do not have a spasm then.

I did call one of the doctors at my transplant clinic, but did not get a call back. Probably get a call back while I am physical therapy and can not answer my phone there or have it on. So phone tag tomorrow.
