Classical music is the best way to get the kids down for a nap! If you are a parent with kids young enough to still take naps play them some Classical. I just got a Grieg cd (lovely by the way) and I put it on for the kids for nap time. And wow they were out so fast! :bow; :bow; :bow;

How old are your children? I wish mine still took naps! If I could get my youngest still long enough, he would probably fall asleep! They don't sleep though, they "recharge".
-
Haha mine are 4. If I don't get them to lay down for a nap they get really cranky. So I stick with the naps. But somedays it isn't an easy task.
-
My 40 year old is back to naps....the 35 year old still just recharges. :rofl;
-
That's how you know you've finally grown up - when naps are a reward, not a punishment. . .
-
:rofl; :rofl; I only wish I could nap! I have so much to do that I can only get done when they are down. Ah! I would love naps. I'll take like two a day please!
-
lol that's funny. When I was a kid (well say 7-9ish) my mother used to take me to classical music concerts. They just didn't impress me and I used to curl up and go to sleep. Strangely enough 10 years later I was right into it!
:rofl;

I have always loved music. You name it I love it. Bob Marley, Enya, and Norah Jones do the trick for them too. But nothing works as well as classical.
-
Even though they complain about it, the kids at school like the classical music. It tends to soothe the savage beast.
-
Pacabel is used for accelerated learning processes. Don't know about putting the student to sleep however. Usually not too much problem doing that.
-
Yeah I was one of those kids. I worked all late and had to be at school by 6:30 for marching band. So I would end up falling asleep at some point during the day. haha
-
my children always napped to Bon Jovi and Journey

I recall reading a few years ago that classical music improves brain function.
-
Yeah I played a lot of classical for them when they were first born. And for some reason I stoped.

Certain pieces do, according to educators and psychologist. I did some experiments with Accellerated Learning Techniques a few years back. It was hard to measure but interesting.

Well even if all I get out of it, is my children love music. I am happy.
