Hello my name is kerwin and I am a dialysis patient now for about a year and a half and i was googling and found this site. This site has made such an impact for me because I am 34 and still single and no kids. My family and friends really don't understand the dialysis procedure or what it does. I wouldn't dialysis on my worst enemy. I am very grateful for founding this site and seeing that other people on dialysis feel like me and give knowledge and comfort at a time where i feel truly by myself.

thank you all for welcoming me!! I just got home from dialysis and I am so thirsty. I will be going through the post for thirsty. I went and visited my doctor not to long ago and he was recommending me to sign up for transplant. I told him that I didnt want it because of my situation. I have an auto immune disease called light chain deposition, long story short my white blood cells attack and destroyed my kidneys and that is why I am in dialysis. The doctor has asked me to call the medical center to speak to the experts but I think I know the answer. go ahead and try it be our guinea pig. Since there is not alot of info about lcd I really dont want to be the one to test on. I also dont want to do 30-40 of dialysis either ???

It wouldn't hurt to just talk to an expert and see. That would be wonderful if you could transplant! :clap;
-

i would like to thank everyone for being so kind and welcoming me? i did some research online and read a few journals and discovered some bad news. all of the doctor's recommend no transplant.
-
And why is that sumodidit? Is it because of the underlying disease or what? Some people here might have suggestions for further questions or other things to explore before accepting that as the final verdict.

Welcome and good luck. I cannot consider a transplant at the moment either because my kidney failure is due to cancer. However, if I can get into remission and stay there for 2 years, they'll look at the possibility.
