We are so lucky to live close to each other. Kitkatz and her mom Betty had planned to go to the Huntington Library and I tagged along. It was a beautiful day and everything worked out perfectly. We got in early before many people showed up. We visited the art gallery in the mansion and took some great photos all over the gardens. It was sunny and warm and everything was blooming. The tea room let us in without a reservation (we were very lucky that Betty was willing to knock on the door and ask!) Tea was wonderful, I ate too much. Here are some photos.

But I need to know what was on the menu! mmmmmmmmmmm 8)

Team scones, butter, clotted cream, jam on the table, then all you could eat tea sandwiches, desserts, fruit, humus, cheeses, crackers, and salads. I ate way too much!

mmmmmm You are making me hungry.

Three kinds of scones: Apple/cinnamon, Chocolate Chip and Rosemary/buleberry, with cream and butter and jam, of course. Tea sandwiches: Curry chicken, cucumber and mint, spicy egg salad, another I can't remember. There were salads, fruit tartlets, lemon bars, chocolate mousse cups, banana bread, strawberries, melon, pineapple, watermelon. There was hummus and crackers and pita bread. Also caviar.

Is that a cardinal in the second photo in the window in the upper right pane? I see something red that sort of lookes like a bird. Haven't seen a cardinal in a long time here.

I think you are seeing the oranges in the tree. We don't have cardinals here.
I am still adding more photos.

I would have gone just for the chocolate mousse ;D
